Tottenham Hotspur Swoop In To Thwart Arsenal Move For Premier League Ace

Tottenham Hotspur have entered race to sign Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, according to reports

The 24-year-old defender has been a solid figure for Boro this season, despite their woes in the Premier League, which has them record back-to-back defeats in the league. There are reports that the likes of several clubs in the Premier League have been monitoring his situation and could swoop for his signature if Middlesbrough gets relegated.

Reports in the Daily Mail have it that Mauricio Pochettino is eager to scupper the efforts of the Gunners in signing Ben Gibson in the next summer transfer window. The Argentine boss is believed to rate Gibson highly and will move to lure him next summer as he aims to have a larger squad next season

It is understood that Middlesbrough value him for a fee around £30million and might agree to sell him in the summer, as major clubs continue to circle round his transfer.

Chelsea are also considered as a another target as Antonio Conte continue to search for reinforcements to his current squad, despite having a wonderful season.

Arsenal are believed to be keen on rebuilding their squad due to their inconsistent displays in the current campaign, although the future of Arsene Wenger might play a major role in the transfer.
