Top-Four Finish Is Possible – Chelsea Defender

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is adamant that the Blues can finish in the top four places at the end of this current Premier League season despite the latest setback against Everton.

Azpilicueta and Chelsea came unstuck against the Toffees in their Premier League clash at the weekend to dent their top-four hopes.

In his recent interview via Goal, the Spanish international reiterated his belief that the Blues can still make the Champions League next season via the Premier League.

He urged his Chelsea teammates not to concentrate on making Champions League football next season via the Europa League route only.

Chelsea missed out on a fantastic opportunity to close the gap on their rivals for a top-four place on the Premier League table with the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton.

The Blues started the game on the front foot but lacked the ruthlessness needed in front of goal as the likes of Pedro and Gonzalo Higuain wasted several opportunities to find the back of the net.

Those first half misses came back to haunt Chelsea after the home team raised their game in the second half.

Everton got their goals in the second half through Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson to seal a much needed victory for their underfire manager Marco Silva.
