Young Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been added to the England squad ahead of their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.

The Three Lions of England squad has been hit by several withdrawals prompting the call-up for Hudson-Odoi.

The 18-year-old was initially called up to the England U-21 squad by manager Aidy Boothroyd ahead of the friendly games with Poland and Germany before being elevated to the senior squad on Monday.

Callum Hudson-Odoi expressed his delight at the new development in an interview with the English FA.

England host the Czech Republic at the Wembley Stadium in their first Euro 2020 qualifier before travelling to face Montenegro in their second game of the qualifying series.

Manager Gareth Southgate named a 25-man squad for the aforementioned games only for the trio of Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) and John Stones (Manchester City) to pull out as a result of injuries.

The withdrawals reduced the England squad to 22 players but the invitation extended to both James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) has swelled the number of players in camp to 24 players.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been frustrated at Chelsea due to a lack of playing time and that has prompted the interest of German champions Bayern Munich in him.
