Thomas Lemar was heavily linked with a move away from Monaco during the past summer transfer window after he emerged as a target for a handful of top clubs across Europe including Liverpool. However, a move could not see the light of the day before the closure of the transfer window.
Right now, Liverpool are once again trying to get the Frenchman’s signature and could get their man this month.
In December, there were speculations the Anfield club are ready to make an offer for the talented 22-year-old when the winter transfer window comes, and that the player himself would prefer joining Liverpool when he leaves Monaco.
Right now, there are new claims by yahoo that Thomas has held discussions with Liverpool and is ready to come over to Anfield if Jurgen Klopp’s side can agree to a fee with the French champions.
Last season in 55 games for Monaco, Lemar scored 14 goals and provided 17 assists to his teammates.
This season in 18 games for the Ligue 1 side so far, he has only been able to score just twice in all competitions.
Liverpool are said to have been working on a deal to sign a superb replacement for bound-to-depart Phillipe Coutinho, and Thomas could be the best guy for the job.
