Senior Man Set For Shocking Exit Following Fallout With Mourinho

According to an Italian agent, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney was offered to Napoli in the summer.

After starting the season with an unimpressive form, the 31-year-old was dropped by United’s manager Jose Mourinho at the end of September. Even though he is working hard towards picking up his fine form, the fact remains his value at Old Trafford is no longer as secure as it once was.

The England international, who is reportedly paid £300,000 a week at United, is no longer Jose Mourinho’s first-choice striker, as huge Zlatan Ibrahimovic keeps starting in the No.9 position more often. He is also struggling grabbing the No.10 position as well.

Interestingly, according to football agent Vincenzo Morabito, Rooney was offered to Napoli in the summer and doesn’t have that good a relationship with his manager.

“I know for a fact that he was offered to Napoli as he can’t go to other English clubs, which could lead him to Spain and Italy,” Morabito told Radio CRC, as reported by Goal.

“He was, I repeat, offered to Napoli. While the idea is beautiful, when you look at his €10 million-a year salary, it isn’t realistic.

“He certainly doesn’t have a good relationship with Mourinho, and therefore his future is far from United, even on loan, to give them more room.”
