Why Rio Ferdinand weeps for United

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has cried out to his club to do the needful in keeping goalkeeper David de Gea who seems to be on his way out of the club.

De Gea’s contract with the Red Devils ends at the end of the season with no talks on the table as he has made up his mind to leave the club but he might be delayed for another year with United having an option to keep him for another year according to the terms in his agreement with the club.

The Spanish goalkeeper is one of the best the Premier League can boast of at the moment having won United’s best player of the year for three consecutive seasons in addition to helping the club win the Premier League, the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League in his seven years at the club.

However, United legend Ferdinand says the club will regret if the player eventually leaves as they will find it difficult to secure a perfect replacement for him.

Ferdinand made this claim while responding to tweets from Harry Redknapp and Paul Ince that the goalkeeper can be allowed to go citing instances of world class goalkeepers like Peter Schmeichel who was replaced after his exit from the scene.
