Pochettino Delighted To Have His Tottenham Side Back

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his happiness about his side getting their swagger back after a blip in October and November.

He said this after his side swept past Russian champions CSKA Moscow 3-1 at the Wembley Stadium to book their spot in the last 32 of UEFA Europa League (UEL) after they finished third in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group E. Speaking afterwards, the former Southampton and Espanyol boss said: “We struggled in the last month and a half. We had some problems, but now we have nearly all the squad fit and we recovered that feeling we lost.”

“It’s true it was a struggle to compete for a while. We crossed that period that was difficult for us.

“The team has full confidence and trust again. It’s lucky that moment arrived in a very busy moment for us.

“Now we have an important period and we are arriving in good form.” he added.

He further revealed that the club would be taking the UEL serious after booking their place on Wednesday night. In his words, he said: “The Europa League is not a consolation, it is an important competition. It is a trophy that is important in Europe.”

“You can qualify for the Champions League if you win it. The Europa league is a very good competition and why not believe we can win it.” he concluded.
