Phil Jones Set To Play Against Newcastle

According to reports, Phil Jones believes he will recover from injury in time to feature at his side’s premier league game against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Manchester United defender limped out of England’s 0-0 draw with Germany on Friday after hurting his calf. And even before the game, the Englishman was seen with heavy strapping on his thigh.

The 25-year-old left the England squad as a result of injury and is now back at Old Trafford where he is been worked with to get fit for the Saturday game.

And according to the Guardian, the Old Trafford club are confident their star defender will be able to play against the Magpies this weekend, and this is a massive boost for manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese tactician will also hope to welcome a handful of his injured men this Saturday, including Paul Pogba, Marcos Rojo and Michael Carrick.

Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been showing good signs on the training ground recently, but the talented centre-forward won’t be back to full action until next month.

The red devils are eight points behind league leaders Manchester City in the premier league. They have lost twice in the English top flight while their Manchester neighbours are yet to lose a single game so far.
