Why Mesut Ozil is still an Arsenal player

It has been revealed that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil would have been playing elsewhere but he decided to remain at the Emirates Stadium by signing a new deal earlier this year.

It would be recalled that the German midfielder and Alexis Sanchez were both into contract disagreement with the club until the Chile international found his way out to Manchester United.

Just at the departure of the former Barcelona star to the Old Trafford, Ozil immediately put pen to paper and extended his stay at the Emirates Stadium which remains a surprise to many.

Ozil’s representative has now revealed that his client had good offers from Asia and other big clubs but decided to remain at the club, noting that money was not a factor for his player’s decision on where to be.

The representative stated that why Ozil remained at the club was because of the commercial impact he has got which could be distorted if he leaves the Emirates Stadium.

According to him, the former Real Madrid star is the biggest social media following player in the Premier League as well as his shirt number sales which was the largest the club as ever had.

He noted that all of these information’s are important for the player’s commercial value in terms of situations of advertisements and modelling.
