Man United, Chelsea Ready To Battle PSG For Brazilian Midfielder

Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to do battle with Paris Saint Germain over the signature of Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia, according to reports.

Paris Saint Germain have been monitoring the situation of Maia since last January transfer window and have retained their interest in the midfielder but will have to battle Chelsea and Manchester United for his signature.

Reports in the Sun claim that the Santos midfielder is at the center of a transfer battle between Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United this summer.

United are said to be on the look for reinforcements in the summer window in a bid to bolster their midfield area while their fierce rivals, Chelsea remain keen on adding vital players to their squad despite their title-winning heroics this summer.

Brazilian outfit, Santos are believed to be resigned to the idea of losing Maia who was part of the team that won gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

It is understood that the midfielder is valued for a fee around £16million and Santos will hold out for the club that will meet their valuation of the player.

Paris Saint Germain are said to be preparing for the departure of Italian midfielder Marco Verratti who has been tipped to leave the club this summer.
