Marquinho

Manchester United are ready to part with £60million to lure Marquinhos to the Old Trafford this summer, according to reports.

The Brazilian defender has been linked with a move away from the Parc du Princes this summer with increased speculations over his future. Marquinhos is rated at £60million with reports that Barcelona and Manchester United will battle for his signature.

There were reports that Barca tried to sign the defender with a bid of around £42million this summer which the French giants rejected and will holding out for their valuation of the defender.

It is understood that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is reluctant to let the Brazilian leave the club to an European rival.

Reports in the Sport claim that the Arab owner veiws Marquinhos as one of the key players in his team and does not want him to leave but Barcelona have sounded their interest in making him one of the core players for the next decade.

However, the report also claims that United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to have the 23-year-old at the Old Trafford next season as he seeks a young and vibrant defence. There are strong indications that the defender’s agent has met with United transfer executives.
