Transfer news – Man United Favourite To Swoop For Marco Verratti

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to reports.

The Red Devils are in need of a central midfielder to partner Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera in the midfield. They have been linked with the likes of Nemanja Matic, Radja Nainggolan and Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer with suggestions that Jose Mourinho wants to bring in an all round midfielder to his setup to anchor his midfield next season.

Reports in Spanish outlet Sport claim that Verratti is set to dump his agent for Mino Raiola who is seen as a transfer fixer for the Red Devils.

The super agent brokered the world record deal that saw £89 million move for Paul Pogba while he also oversaw Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to the Old Trafford last summer transfer window.

It  is understood that Verratti is open to a move away from Paris Saint Germain and could end up at Manchester United soon due to Raiola’s ties with United.

Barcelona are said to be frontrunners in a potential deal for the midfielder but PSG has made it clear that they will not be selling the Italian star this summer, despite Barca’s proposal of including either of Ivan Rakitic or Andre Gomes in a potential deal.

Barcelona are still the favourites to land the PSG star and have even reportedly offered either Ivan Rakitic or Andre Gomes to sweeten the deal.
