Liverpool Set To Hijack Star Player From Arsenal’s Grip This Summer

Even though Liverpool have assured fans that they have no intention of selling Coutinho this summer, it appears they are not yet sure of the player’s own decisions, with reports that they are on their toes to bring in another midfielder should Coutinho chose to leave this summer.

And The Daily Star reported that Monaco star player Thomas Lemar has emerged as a target for the Anfield club following his links with Arsenal.

Lemar burst into the scene last term after helping his French club emerge as Ligue 1 champions with his 14 goals and 17 assists. His impressive performances attracted interests from a host of top European clubs, including Arsenal.

The North London club have had a series of rejected bids for the midfielder. However, there are speculations that the 21-year-old is interested in joining Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

But the chances of Monaco selling Thomas this summer is pretty low, since they have already sold two of their key midfielders – Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva – earlier this summer.

But since Brazilian superstar Neymar appears set to leave Camp Nou to PSG, the Catalan giants will do all they could to replace him with Coutinho. And once Coutinho leaves for Spain, Liverpool will persuade Monaco to release Lemar to Anfield.

But right now, it is understood that Jurgen Klopp’s side have not yet approached the French champions about the player.
