Why Liverpool fans are divided over Barca’s interest in Dejan Lovren

Liverpool may soon let go of their defender and Croatia international, Dejan Lovren.

This comes after the Spanish club, Barcelona showed interest in the Reds defender, Dejan Lovren.

Dejan Lovren lost his place in the Reds starting squad to Joe Gomez following his long term injury.

Since Lovren’s return to the team, Coach Jurgen Klopp has preferred to pair Joe Gomez alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Barca showing interest in the Croatia star is an opportunity for him to get more playing chances away from Liverpool.

The Catalans want to sign a new defender because they are short of players at the back, the duo of Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen are injured.

As for Umtiti, the France international will not undergo any surgery but his return date remain unknown why Vermaelen will be out for six weeks.

This means the Catalans would be left with the duo Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet as the only available centre defenders.

Barcelona hope to make the move for Dejan Lovren in the January transfer window.

However, Liverpool fans have mixed opinions over the possible sale of Dejan Lovren, some Red fans urged the club to sell him off immediately why some said that Liverpool must find a replacement before considering the move.
