Liverpool And Arsenal Dealt Massive Blow In Pursuit Of Top Defender

Middlesbrough are keen on keeping their defender Ben Gibson amid speculations over his future, according to reports.

The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for Boro this season despite their poor form which has gotten them relegated. The defender is tipped to leave the club after relegation with reports that Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are trying to sign him.

Gibson who was called up to the English national team during the last international break, was believed to be ripe to play at a big club next season after showing solid displays for Middlesbrough despite their deteriorating form.

The Daily Mail have it that Middlesbrough Steve Gibson who happens to be Ben Gibson’s uncle will not be cashing out on his nephew this summer as he plans to have him lead their course to get promoted next season.

It is also understood that Boro will fend off offers from the club this summer despite the defender’s signficant value at £25million.

Boro will clash with Liverpool at the Anfield next Sunday and will hope to give a lasting impression in the Premier League as the Reds also fight to get a victory which will guarantee their place in the Champions League next season.
