Klopp Provides Update On Possible January Transfers

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on possible signings ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from January 1.

Klopp spoke about transfers during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Liverpool take on the Magpies at home on Boxing Day in what is a Matchweek 19 game in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp revealed that he has left his door open for new players in the January transfer window if his squad becomes more depleted with injuries.

Utility player James Milner played at right-back in their last league game against newly promoted Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night due to the injury to first choice Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Milner is a midfielder that can play at left-back or right-back.

Liverpool are also down to just two centre backs following the injuries to the duo of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Gomez and Matip are not expected back in the Liverpool team until at least the second week of January.

The Reds have to navigate over five games in all competitions with two senior centre backs only.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have the duo of Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren as the two fit centre backs in the team.
