Five-time European champions Liverpool are planning a big money move for in-form RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner ahead of the January transfer window which reopens next week.
Various reports coming out of Germany claim that the Premier League table toppers are keen on a move for the 22-year-old.
The German international forward has been in sensational form for RB Leipzig this season.
He has scored 13 goals in 19 games in all competitions thereby helping RB Leipzig to the top four of the German Bundesliga.
Timo Werner has recovered well from a disastrous World Cup tournament in Russia.
The petite attacker didn’t score or provide an assist for Germany at the World Cup as the four-time champions surprisingly crashed out of the tournament at the group stage.
Werner and Germany finished bottom of Group F behind South Korea, Mexico and group winners Sweden.
He was previously part of the Germany squad that won the 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup in Russia.
Liverpool have been depleted by several injuries and they could need quality signings like Timo Werner to maintain their spot at the top of the Premier League table.
German champions Bayern Munich will provide stern competition for Liverpool in their quest to sign Werner who’s rated at around £50m.
