Kane Backs Chelsea Winger To Shine For England

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is adamant that young Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will shine for the Three Lions of England despite his lack of experience at Premier League level.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was promoted from the England U21 setup to the senior team on Monday by manager Gareth Southgate ahead of the Three Lions’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro.

In a news conference on Monday, Harry Kane revealed his confidence in the ability of Callum Hudson-Odoi as he pointed out that he has shown his quality in Three Lions’ training.

The England skipper also praised the conduct and attitude of the young players in the team.

Harry Kane has been impressed by the likes of Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Declan Rice.

Both Rice and Hudson-Odoi have been handed their first call-up to the national team.

Gareth Southgate invited 25 players to the England national team setup ahead of the aforementioned Euro 2020 qualifiers but the team has been hit by withdrawals.

Three players have had to withdraw from the England squad because of injury.

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and the Manchester City duo of Fabian Delph and John Stones pulled out of the England team as a result of injury.

Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse and the aforementioned Callum Hudson-Odoi were called up as replacements for the injured players.
