Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has lauded the quality shown by Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho during his time with the Premier League champions.

In a chat with Sport360, Raheem Sterling praised the impact of the young winger at both club and country level as he narrated how Jadon Sancho ran rings around him during their first training session together.

Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling were Manchester City teammates before the former joined German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund at the start of last season.

In one of his recent interviews, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the Reds wanted to sign the young winger while he was at Manchester City.

Klopp further revealed that their title rivals were not willing to let the 18-year-old join Liverpool just before his move to Germany in 2017.

In his first season at Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho made just 12 appearances for the Champions League campaigners but he has grown to become a key player at the club in his second campaign as a Borussia Dortmund player.

Jadon Sancho has figured heavily for a Borussia Dortmund side bidding to win a first league title in almost a decade.

Borussia Dortmund have squandered their nine-point lead over defending champions Bayern Munich and they are now level on points with the Bavarian giants leading the table on goal difference.
