Experienced journalist Kristof Terreur has confirmed the Reds’ change of decision on striker Divock Origi.
Belgian football expert Terreur took to his official Twitter handle to reveal that Liverpool had a change of heart on sending Origi on loan.
According to him, Liverpool initially wanted the Belgian striker to leave the club on loan in this January transfer window against his wish which was to stay at Anfield until the end of the season at least.
He went on to say that Liverpool have decided to let him stay at the club for the rest of the season.
Divock Origi, 23, has been on the fringes of the Liverpool first team since he returned from a loan spell at German Bundesliga club VFL Wolfsburg at the start of the season.
The Belgian international player scored just six goals for Wolfsburg last season.
Despite his limited first team opportunities at Liverpool this season, the former Lille star has been able to make an impact on the Reds team chasing honours in both the Premier League and Champions League.
His biggest contribution came in the first week of December when he came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Everton in their Premier League clash at Anfield earlier this season.
