Ex-Chelsea Boss Interested In Newcastle United Job

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in the managerial job at Premier League club Newcastle United.

This is according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mirror which claimed that the Portuguese tactician is willing to hold talks about becoming the new Magpies manager when Billionaire Sheikh Bin Zayed takes over.

The Newcastle United takeover is almost complete and Sheikh Bin Zayed could opt for Jose Mourinho instead of current boss Rafael Benitez.

Spanish tactician Benitez has already told senior club officials that he won’t agree on a new deal if there’s no assurance of improving the playing squad this summer.

His deal expires at the end of this month.

The Newcastle United manager is expected to be given a lot of money to invest in the playing squad once the takeover is complete but the owner is said to be keen on Jose Mourinho.

The former FC Porto manager has been without a managerial job since he was sacked at Manchester United six months ago.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named his replacement shortly after his dismissal in December.

Mourinho has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid, Celtic and Lyon but nothing concrete has come out of those rumors.
