Fan favourite ready to remain at Arsenal despite links away in the summer

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere wants to pen a new contract at the club despite his current contract expected to run out in the summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports the midfielder said that he wants to stay at the club despite a tough few years at the North London club.

We wait and see if French tactician Arsene Wenger and the Gunners will equal Jack Wilshere’s intent to stay at the side but the intent of the England international midfielder are clear.

The Arsenal star was loaned out last season to AFC Bournemouth but failed to seal consistent playing time and returned to Arsenal in the last summer window with a lot of questions being raised over his future at North London.

The English midfielder has however slowly worked his way back into Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal plans after a number of good performances in the UEFA Europa League. Jack Wilshere made his first English Premier League start of the campaign against West Ham United this month.

This month, however, TalkSport stated that former Gunner star and now football pundit Paul Merson had persuaded the midfielder to leave Arsenal so as to help his career.
The midfielder has clearly opted that he wants to stay at the club but it is yet to be known if the Gunners board will accept his wishes by offering him a new contract.
