Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is leading his men to North London for their next premier league clash against Arsenal on Friday night.
And speaking ahead of the important clash, the German boss admits he is happy Olivier Giroud won’t be available for Arsenal for the game at the Emirates Stadium.
Giroud picked an injury during his side’s recent 1-0 win over West Ham United in the League Cup, and Klopp said the gunners usually pick the 30-year-old to play ‘long ball’ whenever his side clashed with the London club.
Arsenal are yet to beat Liverpool ever since Jurgen took over the mantle of leadership at Anfield. The Merseyside club have won three out of their last four games against the Gunners, and Arsene Wenger will hope things can get better this time around.
In their previous meetings last season, the reds were usually the dominants while Wenger’s men try finding the back of the net by serving long balls to Giroud.
And the Liverpool boss confessed he is relieved Olivier won’t be able to participate in the Friday game due to his injury.
Liverpool, fourth-placed, are ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal with just a point.
Arsenal can pull the reds out of the fourth spot by earning all three points at the Emirates Stadium on Friday.
