Chelsea target Jack Butland is not leaving this summer, Stoke City boss, Gary Rowettt has revealed.
The Blues are looking to bring in a new shot-stopper before the end of the current window, following reports that Thibaut Courtois wants to leave the Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid.
Chelsea have already signed Rob Green but still on the lookout to sign a better keeper to replace the transfer-bound Courtois.
Butland who was part of the English team that reached the semifinals of the World Cup in Russia has been tipped to join Chelsea before the end of the summer transfer window.
However, Chelsea’s hopes of signing the England international appears to have been dented following comments by the player’s manager that he is expected to remain at Stoke City despite speculations surrounding his future.
Rowett told BBC radio that the goalkeeper has not made any significant moves to leave the club and he is certain that he will remain with the club even at the summer transfer window.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is faced with the challenge of replacing Courtois if the Belgian leaves for Real Madrid and the club might also need to pay over the odds to lure the best hands to the Stamford Bridge before end of transfer business this year.
