Ivan Rakitic Set To Join Liverpool Because Of Philippe Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp is expected to take full advantage of the upcoming January transfer window to reinforce his squad, and should in case Philippe Coutinho leaves, he must bring in another superb midfielder to replace the samba playmaker.

There were reports in the media that Barcelona are still keen on bringing the player over to Camp Nou, and it is likely that Ivan Rakitic leaves the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Rakitic does not want to play second fiddle to Phil and moving to Anfield could be an option for him.

It was also stated that the Croatian international could be used as part of the deal to lure Coutinho from Liverpool.

Rakitic is a superb midfielder who has won every major title with Barcelona, and he will definitely add lots of quality to Liverpool.

Last term, the 29-year-old scored 7 times and provided 6 assists in 26 La Liga starts for the Catalan giants. And this season so far, he has provided 3 assists in 9 league starts.

Ivan signed a new deal with Barca back in March that is meant to expire in 2021, and the contract has a massive release clause of €125million.

He was also linked with the Merseyside club back in August, and it was claimed that he really likes Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
