Revealed: Here Is The Reason Chelsea Couldn’t Sign Highly-Rated Samba Star Last Year

According to new revelations, the main reason why Chelsea turned down the chance to sign Brazilian star Gabriel Barbosa last summer was because of one of their own promising youngster Tammy Abraham.

Tammy Abraham has enjoyed a superb campaign out on loan at Bristol City this season. The youngster scored 26 goals in 48 games for Bristol in an impressive outing that made many believe he would soon be invited into Conte’s first-team.

However, there are speculations already that the 19-year-old is set to be granted a new contract at Chelsea, even though it is still likely he will spend next season out on loan again.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the premier league champions have had the 19-year-old in their plans for some time which is one of the reasons they missed the chance to sign Barbosa a year old.

Gabriel Barbosa is one of the world’s most highly rated young forwards, and he eventually moved to the Italian Serie A to play with Inter Milan.

There is nothing too wrong with Chelsea’s decision in regards to Barbosa. The club is known to prioritize the signing of the big guys over their own academy players, so nothing wrong if they begin looking into the other direction.

Some weeks back, Antonio Conte expressed that he will give the young stars the chance to prove themselves in his squad.
