Chelsea made an attempt to sign Ezequiel Garay last summer when he was still at Real Madrid, but the player chose to move to Valencia instead.
And right now, there are reports that the centre-back has received three different offers to make a Premier League summer move, even though the news outlet Super Deporte did not reveal who his current suitors are.
However, in recent transfer windows, the player has been linked with top English clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal – and all are still looking to bolster their defences.
Last summer, Manchester United signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal while Chelsea signed David Luiz back from PSG. And though Jose Mourinho has successfully brought Lindelof from Benfica this summer, Antonio Conte is yet to complete the signing of a top defender despite being linked with the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro, and Virgil Van Dijk.
Right from the first day of his arrival at Valencia, Garay became a regular member of the Valencia squad, but his future this summer looks once more uncertain.
It was said that his agent Jorge Mendes has told the La Liga club that there are different English top flight clubs set to pay between €25m and €28m to bring the Argentina international into England, even though the identity of the clubs were not disclosed.
