Arsenal are closing in on signing Leicester and Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez, just as Olympic Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette complete Arsenal transfer.
According to Daily Star, the Gunners are ready to make two significant summers signing in the next few days.
Mahrez signed a new deal with the former Premier League Champions last season.
Gazetta dello Sport’s Tancredi Palmeri, said the Gunners are close to finalising a deal for the Algerian.
The attacker played important roles in Leicester City’s unlikely Premier League win during the 2015/16 season. However, the Algerian has struggled for consistency in form since and could link up alongside latest Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates Stadium next season.
The Telegraph reports Leicester was initially asking for a fee around £50m for the African. But they suggest the Gunners would be unlikely to pay the asking price.
Arsenal could also face competition from Premier League rivals for the Leicester man, as Chelsea are said to be monitoring his situation.
The Frenchman underwent a medical examination yesterday and has since finished it with no complications, according to reports in the British media. It’s believed Paperwork is still not finalised, though the transfer will be a club-record move for the France International forward, which is said to increase to £52m after add-ons.
