Done Deal: Dortmund Sign Liverpool Target In €25m Transfer

German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Julian Brandt from fellow top flight side Bayer Leverkusen.

His transfer was announced by Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday afternoon.

Premier League club Liverpool were strongly linked with the player only for the Reds to miss out on him to Borussia Dortmund.

Julian Brandt leaves Bayer Leverkusen for Borussia Dortmund after his €25m release clause was activated by the former Champions League winners.

He has signed a five-year contract at Dortmund until the summer of 2024.

Bayer Leverkusen were hoping to retain the young attacker’s services but the player has decided to join German Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

He had a very good season for Bayer Leverkusen thereby helping the club to secure a Champions League spot for next season at the expense of clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Bayer Leverkusen sealed the fourth and final Champions League spot for next season with a thumping victory over Hertha Berlin last weekend.

Julian Brandt scored 10 goals for Bayer Leverkusen in addition to 17 assists.

He has joined a Borussia Dortmund team looking to build a formidable squad to win the league title after fierce rivals Bayern Munich beat them to the title by two points.
