Chelsea player set for La Liga club loan move ahead of £35million transfer next summer

Controversial Chelsea striker Diego Costa is ready to move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid on loan with a £35million permanent transfer deal to be agreed in the summer.

Reports indicate, Atletico look to have agreed a lower fee for the Spanish striker, with the Blues desperate to cash in on the 28-year-old.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone coached Diego Costa between 2011 and 2014 and made him into a prolific goalscorer at the Vicente Calderon.

Now the Spanish club have a new home inside their newly-built stadium, called the Wanda Metropolitano.

As per Goal.com, Diego Simeone has made it his personal mission to have Costa back at the Capital City club.

The Chelsea striker would be eligible to sign for Atletico in January as the side are currently banned from registering new players.

The transfer embargo kept star striker Antoine Griezmann at the side over the summer transfer window, with the France international not wanting to leave for Premier League giant Manchester United without them signing a replacement.

Diego Costa has been away on exile from the Bridge since Chelsea won last season’s English Premier League trophy.

Relations between the striker and his manager Antonio Conte soured after the Italian tactician sent him a text informing him he has no future at Stamford Bridge.
