Despite winning Southampton, Liverpool fans slam this player

The Reds were spectacular as they faced Southampton at Anfield yesterday, they went on to score three goals.

However, while the Reds squad did give a wonderful performance, it seems one of the Reds players was lagging behind.

And this happens to be their defender, Joel Matip, who recently had his first start for Liverpool FC this season.

Liverpool defender, Joel Matip in the first half of the game against Southampton was close to destroying what ended up as a clean sheet for Liverpool football club.

The Liverpool defender almost let a goal slip due to a misplaced pass and fans were not happy with his performance and were not afraid to criticise him as some had gone ahead to term him a weak link.

Some fans went on to say that Joel Matip has gone rusty under Joel Matip.

Although the defender will later go ahead to give the Reds their third goal, it was not enough to save him from the numerous abusive words that flooded Twitter.

Joel Matip made it to the Liverpool FC first eleven owing to the absence of Dejan Loveren, who is still on the sideline but is set to return later on.
