Chelsea on alert as £7.2 a year midfielder rejects offer

Chelsea have been linked with moves to sign Paris Saint Germain midfielder, Adrien Rabiot.

A new report from France has made it known that 23-year-old midfielder, Adrian Rabiot has refused to accept a contract extension deal from the French club, Paris Saint Germain.

The young midfielder is keen on leaving the Ligue1 despite PSG increasing his pay wage to £7.2 million per year.

According to the term of Adrien Rabiot contract, his stay at PSG will come to an end at the end of this season but the Ligue 1 toppers want him to stay, it now looks glaring that the midfielder will be gone by 2019.

Chelsea have been monitoring the situation closely, the Blues are keen on adding Rabiot to the team, But they will face stiff challenges from Man Utd, Barcelona and Juventus, who are also interested in the midfielder.

Adrien Rabiot is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe at the moment.

However, we are yet to understand the rationale behind Chelsea interest in the 23-year-old player – Stamford Bridge is already stockpiled with midfielders, Matteo Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante, Fabregas, Ross Barkley, Loftus-Cheek and Danny Drinkwater and most of them are getting limited playing chances.
