About three European clubs expressed their delight in seeing the Super Eagles thrash Libya by 4-0 in the 2019 African Nations Cup Qualifiers on Saturday. Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, is now ready for a coaching role after his disappointing and early retirement from active football. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalie was just inline to make it to the World Cup that was recently concluded in Russia before he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July 2017. Pinnick returns as NFF president amidst crisis
Incumbent Amaju Pinnick has returned as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF. He will now continue as a President of the Federation until 2022. Pinnick recorded a slide win in the Thursday election which was held in the northern Nigerian state, Katsina. Pinnick polled 34 of available 44 votes, as he defeated former president Aminu Maigari who managed 8 and Taiwo Ogunjobi with 2 votes to the position.
