Brighton vs Liverpool : Team News, probable line-up and prediction

Liverpool travel to the Amex Stadium where they will come up against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Reds have failed to avoid defeat in their two previous matches in all competitions but they will look to bounce back from the two games losing streak.

The Merseyside club sit at the top of the League table with 54 points but they mustn’t be too relaxed because only four points separate them from Manchester City, who are close behind them in second position.

TEAM NEWS AND INJURY

Klopp’s team are battling numerous injury problems, but the good news is that Joel Matip — who hasn’t played a single game since December 11 — is back to full fitness and he is in contention for a starting berth.

Dejan Lovren is automatically ruled out of the fixture having injured his hamstring in Monday’s FA Cup defeat to Wolves at the Molineux stadium.

Joe Gomez still remains at the sideline, while, Henderson is a major doubt for the encounter.

  • Liverpool face Southampton threat for highly rated midfielder

Adam Lallana is back from his injury setback but he might play no role against the Seagulls as part of Klopp’s safety measures.

PROBABLE LINE-UP

In-form and inspiring Bernd Leno returns to the starting lineup after being left out of the team against Wolves.

Van Dijk, Matip, Alexander-Anold and (probably) Milner are likely to make up the four-man defensive setup.

Fabinho will retain his position at the middle of the park. Keita might feature alongside the Brazilian midfielder while Shaqiri could be moved to the attacking midfield position.

Divock Origi will surely make way for Roberto Firmino; Jones is going to give way for Mane while Sturridge will be dropped to the bench in favour of the 2018 African best footballer Mohammed Salah.

Prediction

On current form, Liverpool shouldn’t have a problem defeating Brighton. The game is likely to end up 3-1 in favour of the Reds.
