Matip rejected to go for the competition and Cameroon’s boss on his part reached out to FIFA so that Matip will not be able to feature for Liverpool until the AFCON is completed.
Matip has been an important member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad this season, featured in 12 league games and scored once. The Mirror however added that Liverpool boss Klopp will try one more time to get a clear answer from FIFA before selecting the team against Plymouth, but Liverpool may make a decision and then see what happens next. It added that Matip could be suspended, Liverpool might be fined and could even get points deducted.
