Big loss as Liverpool winger in Doubt for Sevilla Champions League Clash

When Merseyside giant Liverpool have been able to play wing duo of Senegalese Sadio Mane and Egyptian Mohamed Salah and, managed to keep both African stars on the pitch, the attacking line has been fearsome. The former Roma star, in particular, has been brilliant.

However, Egypt international winger Mohamed Salah left training early on Tuesday ahead of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage encounter against Sevilla, complaining of a sore in his throat.

The former Dortmund tactician said, “Mo (Mohamed Salah), we (Liverpool) sent him (Salah) home tonight.”

“He (Mohamed Salah) was in (with the team) and the doc (doctor) told me (Jurgen Klopp) Mo (Mohamed) Salah can train (with the squad), but the best for him (Salah) is if he (Salah) doesn’t have to. He (Mohamed Salah) has a sore throat illness. It should not be very serious.

Hopefully, the pacy winger just needed to rest and will be fit enough for tonight. Otherwise, the Reds will have to make use of their alternate plan of attack.

Regardless of Mohamed Salah’s fitness status for tonight’s Champions league encounter, Sadio Mane will be well rested and fully fit after his early birth against Manchester City at the Weekend.

The Liverpool boss will also have the options of utilizing either Brazilian Philippe Coutinho and/or England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain until Mohamed Salah recuperates from his brief illness.
