Backup Option: Chelsea Star Identified As Alternative For Gueye

French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are in the market for a new midfielder and they have identified Chelsea star N’Golo Kante as the man for the job.

According to the report from the Daily Mirror, PSG is targeting a move for French World Cup winner Kante after moving on from Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

It was revealed that PSG have moved on to Kante after Everton turned down a big bid for the aforementioned Gueye during the winter transfer window.

Everton were said to have turned down a bid of around £21m from PSG for Senegalese international Gueye in January.

Everton were not willing to let Gueye leave the club earlier in the season and he played a key role for the Toffees who finished the season strongly to secure a top eight finish in the Premier League.

PSG will definitely have a lot of work to do to convince Chelsea to part with Kante who signed a new contract towards the end of last year.

N’Golo Kante is the highest paid player at Chelsea after his new deal worth around £290,000 on a weekly basis.

The aforementioned publication also revealed that PSG will turn their attention to Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure if Chelsea don’t sanction the sale of N’Golo Kante.
