Arsene Wenger sure of bringing experienced 30-year-old defender to Arsenal in the summer

According to several media sources, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is sure of sealing a transfer deal to land Jonny Evans from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.

Arsene Wenger ‘hell bent’

As per Daily Mail, the Arsenal manager feels confident that he will be able to sign the 30-year-old former Manchester United defender at the end of the campaign as the French tactician looks to reinforce his backline.

The same article says that the Gunners should be able to seal a £25million deal to land the Premier League defender when the season ends.

Arsenal switch

Jonny Evans was linked heavily with a switch to Arsenal in the winter transfer window but a move for the Northern Ireland international defender failed to materialise.

A lot has been said of Arsenal’s failings in defence this term and it would be sensible for them to try and land defensive reinforcements in the summer.

The defender has been a regular figure in the West Brom team so far this term, netting twice and providing one assist in 22 League matches for the Baggies.

The Gunners are currently in the sixth position on the log as they face a stiff battle in trying to return to the top four this term.
