Arsenal will have to offer more than £25m to sign proven 30-year-old January transfer window – report

According to British sources, Arsenal will have to pay in excess of £25million if they want to land Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion in the winter window.

Discussions ongoing

The Sun suggests that the Gunners have been discussing with West Brom about the possibility of landing the 30-year-old as the winter transfer deadline approaches.

The same article states that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sees the defender as the “ideal” player to bring composure to his backline at The Emirates Stadium.

However, it is now suggested in the same article that the Baggies are delaying and will demand a transfer fee of £27million to offload Evans before the winter deadline next week.

The same article states that Arsenal have been attempting very hard to sign Evans as well as Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

It is suggested in the same publication that the Gunners have already tabled a £25million package together to attempt and land Evans but it looks like they will have to cough out more to sign the defender this window.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger is currently getting his team prepared for their English Premier League clash with Swansea City on Tuesday.

Latest signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan could play his first match for his new side after his transfer from Manchester United.
