Arsenal ready to cough out €60m to sign 28-year-old – Report

According to Guillem Balague, Arsenal are ready to pay about €60m to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German side Borussia Dortmund in January.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a transfer move for the African recently as manager Arsene Wenger looks to reinforce his attacking options at the club in the winter transfer window.

Now, Spain based football expert Balague has suggested that the  Gunners have already had an opening bid for the Gabonese rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

However, he also claims that the Gunners are set to return with a fresh offer and that a transfer fee of about €60m (£53m) should be tempting enough to lure Dortmund into offloading the 28-year-old forward.

The former African footballer of the year has been in brilliant shape for the German Bundesliga outfit so far this campaign and has grabbed 13 goals and assisted three goals in 15 German Bundesliga matches so far for the side.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are currently preparing for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final encounter against Premier League Champion Chelsea on Wednesday after their 0-0 draw with Conte’s men in the first leg this month.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the English Premier League last Saturday with a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace at The Emirates Stadium.
