Arsenal prepared to break bank for 28-year-old Sanchez replacement in £53million deal – report

According to media reports, Arsenal are preparing a huge-money move for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this January transfer window.

The Daily Mail is claiming that Arsenal negotiating a deal to sign the Gabon international forward, who is thought to be one of Europe’s most highly-rated forwards.

The same report states that the Gunners are now stepping up their move to try and sign the African as a result of the situation of Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez.

The report states that the Gunners head of recruitment/signings Sven Mislintat feels that a change of team would bring the very best out of the Gabon striker, despite Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger having doubts about him.

The 28-years-old has been in good form for the German Bundesliga club so far this campaign, netting 13 goals and providing three assists in 15 German Bundesliga matches for the club.

The North Londoners are thought to be searching for reinforcement up front after a shaky first stanza of the current season for the Emirates club.

Arsenal are currently in sixth position in the English topflight table and eight points behind the top four teams as they seek UEFA Champions League qualification.

Arsenal have not won the title since their popular unbeaten success in the 2003-04 league season.
