Arsenal could secure deal for Chelsea star on New Year Day

Emerging reports hint that North London side Arsenal would seal a deal for West London Chelsea star Gary Cahill in the early days of the New Year.

The Gunners are believed to be big fans of the star player who is also keen to leave the Stamford Bridge with the hope that he can join the Emirates Stadium in the coming year.

Gary Cahill has not enjoyed the game this season having gone down the pecking order in the Maurizio Sarri team without enough playing time which makes him seek a move away from the club.

On the other hand, Arsenal are keen to have him join the club so as to solve their defensive crisis with Rob Holding already out of the season.

The race for the top four finish is getting tougher and the North London side are desperate to return back to Champions League football with new manager Unai Emery sating it as his mission this season.

However, there is no doubt that Chelsea will let Gary Cahill leave the club in January knowing that he is not in the plan of the Italian boss.

Meanwhile, Gary Cahill is not expected to cost more than £18 million which would be affordable for the Gunners.
