Announcement imminent – Arsenal agree deal with highly rated defender

North London on outfit Arsenal are reported to have agreed on a deal with Wiliam Saliba on claims that an announcement would be made any moment from now.

L’Equipe report went further to claim that a five-year contract have been agreed with the player and they are concluding paper works for his signature.

The North London outfit are yet to announce any player in this summer transfer window and from this report, the 18-year-old Saint-Etienne defender could be the first.

Reports claim that he is being monitored by Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid and Man United with former manager Jose Mourinho already predicting a bright future for the star defender.

The Portuguese boss likens William Saliba to the Kurt Zouma of Chelsea and will not mind signing him if he eventually hooks up with a new job.

Arsenal have got to strengthen the team this summer transfer window, with the defence as their major focus if they must compete for titles and perform better than the just-concluded season.

Although, they have got a limited budget to engage in the summer window with manager Unai Emery being helped with £40 million.

It is yet to be seen how the money would be spent, but pundits are of the opinion that it is short of the club’s demands
