Liverpool Eyeing £27m Summer Move For La Liga Defender

Premier League title contenders Liverpool are plotting a summer move for highly-rated Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente according to widespread media reports.

The specific report from Noticias de Gipuzkoa claims that the Reds might move for the centre back in the summer after showing their interest in him.

The 25-year-old could be available for just £27m in the summer and that’s one of the major reasons why Liverpool want to sign him.

Merseyside rivals Everton are also interested in the two-cap Spanish international.

Diego Llorente came through the Real Madrid Academy before playing for the Real Madrid C and the Real Madrid Castilla.

The Spanish defender played a handful of games for the club’s senior team before joining fellow La Liga side Real Sociedad in 2017.

Since his move to the Basque club, Diego Llorente has scored seven goals in 52 games for the Basque outfit.

The player would be a fantastic addition to the Liverpool setup with the Reds expected to strengthen the centre back position when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

He could be a direct replacement for Reds defender Joel Matip who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Diego Llorente has played 18 times for Real Sociedad this term.
