Chelsea Face European Threat For £35m-rated Midfielder

Bruno Fernandes

Former European champions Chelsea will have to fend off the interest of clubs from the European continent in their quest to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

This is according to reports coming out of the media in Portugal.

Daily Record claim that European sides like AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are keen on a move for Bruno Fernandes.

The £35m-rated Portuguese international has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge especially since the exit of Spanish international midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

Fabregas left Chelsea for French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco during the winter transfer window after spending four-and-a-half years at the club.

The 31-year-old was part of the Chelsea team that won the 2014/15 Premier League title under the guidance of Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho as well as the 2016/17 Premier League title under the guidance of Antonio Conte.

Cesc Fabregas’ move to Monaco was influenced by former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry who was the club’s manager but the Frenchman has since been sacked after just three months in charge of the team.

Chelsea have not replaced Fabregas in their team and Bruno Fernandes could be the man for the job.

Argentine international midfielder Leandro Paredes was also linked with the Blues before he signed for French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
