30-Year-Old Liverpool Midfielder Linked With Southampton Return

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana could return to former club Southampton when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Daily Mirror claim that the Saints could welcome England international Lallana back to the club this summer.

The 30-year-old has endured a frustrating spell at Liverpool due to several injury problems.

Adam Lallana helped Southampton gain promotion to the top flight of English football in 2012 before enjoying his best season for the Saints during the 2013/14 season.

He helped Southampton to the eighth spot at the end of the 2013/14 season and his form earned him a big money move to Liverpool that summer.

Liverpool paid £25m to secure his transfer from Southampton controversially after the player forced his way out of his boyhood club.

His time at Liverpool has been disturbed by injuries, especially in the last three seasons.

Adam Lallana has played just 917 minutes of Premier League football since the start of last season.

He has not been able to play much football for Liverpool this season mainly due to competition for places following the acquisition of two quality midfielders at the start of this campaign.

Liverpool splashed the cash to sign Naby Keita and Fabinho from RB Leipzig and AS Monaco respectively.
