Virgil van Dijk

It has been revealed that North London side Arsenal turned down the opportunity to secure the signature of Liverpool central defender Virgil Van Dijk some years back for just £12 million.

The Gunners were reported to have no faith in the player as they held the insinuation that he was too “nonchalant” to play in the Premier League.

It is no doubt that the North London side have been proven wrong by the big and quality player Virgil Van Dijk has turned out to be in the Premier League and Europe at large.

Also, the Reds did not make a mistake to have splashed the whopping sum of £75 million on the star defender to bring him from Southampton in the last January transfer window.

However, a former assistant manager at Arsenal John Collins has now revealed that Arsenal were among the clubs that were supposed to land Virgil Van Dijk for a cheap price but refused to take the opportunity.

John Collins has now stated that the player is obviously a big miss for all of the clubs that rejected him because he has got lots of qualities including his pace, strength, balance and food distribution which helps to stabilize the Reds’ defence.
