Maurizio Sarri Officially Makes Big Claim On Chelsea Reject, Slams Conte’s Claim

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has said that David Luiz can adapt to a four-man defence setup despite claims by former boss, Antonio Conte that the Brazilian only thrives in a three-man defence.

The 31-year-old was part of the Chelsea side that defeated Huddersfield 3-0 onn Saturday, marking his return to first team football at the club.

David Luiz, who spent most time under Conte on the bench last season due to reported bust-up with the Italian, seems to have relieved his career at Stamford Bridge after getting the nod by Sarri to start their opener fixture.

After the win, Sarri went on describe Luiz as a versatile player who is capable of playing in the three-man defence as well as a four-man back-line.

Luiz was not part of the Brazilian team that went to the last World Cup in Russia, with reports that his international career might soon be over due to his error-prone displays in the past.

Maurizio Sarri will hope that the Brazilian will improve on his performances and cement a place in the starting lineup, as they hope to mount serious challenge in the Premier League after failing to make top four last season, owing to uncertainties over Antonio Conte’s future at the club.
