Better Than Ross Barkley! Chelsea Hijack Transfer Deal For Wonderboy – Report

Chelsea have intensified efforts to bolster their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Blues are now ready to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Jack Grealish, according to reports in The Sun.

Spurs were believed to be the frontrunners in a potential deal for Grealish since the start of the transfer window. But a timely intervention from John Terry gave Chelsea the lead in the pursuit of the English youngster.

Terry who is still highly revered among the Blues’ faithful, played alongside Grealish at Aston Villa last season and believes the midfielder would a vital addition to the London side.

Tottenham Hotspur who are yet to make any decisive signings since the start of the transfer window will be gutted at Chelsea’s increased chances of signing Jack Grealish.

However, Aston Villa are understood to be holding on to their star performer but may be forced to sell as they need to reshuffle their finances, after failing to get promoted into the Premier League last season.

The possible arrival of Grealish could spell doom for the likes of Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater who have not been able to nail a place in the starting line-up since they arrived at the club last summer transfer window.
