Manchester United have agreed on a five-year deal to sign Paris Saint Germain defender Serge Aurier, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to United this summer after being left out of PSG’s preseason tour with reports that Unai Emery has told the player he is free to leave the club.
Aurier has been embroiled in a legal issue over his alleged row with a police officer in Paris that led to his conviction. The defender has also been banned from entering the United Kingdom, he could not travel with the PSG squad that played against Arsenal in the Champions League group stage last November.
United boss Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen on adding more steel to his defence after the arrival of Victor Lindelof and has identified Aurier as a younger version of their current right-back, Antonio Valencia who has been a key figure for the Red Devils last season.
Reports in Goal.com claim that the Red Devils have agreed to personal terms with Aurier ahead of a potential move which is being held by his ban into UK.
It is understood that an appeal would have to be ruled in the favour of the Ivorien defender before a transfer move can be sanctioned between United and Paris Saint Germain.
